Vermont CO2 Budget Trading Regulations Stakeholder Information Session

In December 2017, the participating Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) states completed a comprehensive review of this nine-state program that caps carbon dioxide emissions from electricity generation. The states agreed to changes in the program that will further reduce the regional cap on carbon dioxide emissions from this sector by 30% (over 22 million tons) from 2021 to 2030, plus other program elements that will enhance market stability.

The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources (ANR) will hold a pre-rulemaking stakeholder information session on proposed changes to the Vermont CO2 Budget Trading Regulations that will make the Vermont regulations consistent with the RGGI program changes. The information session is scheduled for Thursday March 22 from 10am to noon at the Davis Building in National Life, Montpelier. The information session will also be available via webcast.

Pre-registration is required to attend in person and is recommended for the webcast. Register via e-mail to brian.woods@vermont.gov by COB Tuesday March 20.
