MONTPELIER – The Agency of Natural Resources (ANR) and the Natural Resources Board have temporarily limited public access to their regional offices due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the State of Emergency declared by Governor Phil Scott. Staff remain fully available to provide assistance and timely responses to Vermonters questions via phone or email. If a matter requires an in-person meeting, the Agency is asking the public to set up an appointment with regional office staff prior to visiting the office.
“To flatten the curve of COVID-19, the Agency is taking a number of steps to reduce exposure,” said ANR Secretary Julie Moore. “One of those steps is to limit access to our regional offices. Staff are readily accessible via phone and email and I’m asking individuals who need to meet with regional office staff in-person to call ahead and set up an appointment.”
ANR has five regional offices. They are located in Barre, Essex Junction, Rutland, Springfield, and St. Johnsbury. The regional offices are home to a number of Agency staff, including environmental enforcement officers, permit specialists, solid waste management professionals, wastewater and regional engineers, wetlands ecologists, state lands forestry and recreation staff, county foresters, state parks staff, game wardens, and wildlife biologists and fisheries biologists. The Natural Resources Board (NRB)’s Act 250 District Coordinators are also located in the ANR regional offices.
