PUBLIC MEETING
Thursday, March 24, 2016 — 6:30-8:30 PM
Martin Memorial Hall, Ascutney, VT
A Long Range Management Plan (LRMP) has been prepared for five parcels of state land known as the Ascutney Management Unit (AMU), and the Departments of Forests, Parks and Recreation and Fish & Wildlife would like your input regarding the plan. The AMU includes Little Ascutney Wildlife Management Area, Mt. Ascutney State Park, Skitchewaug Wildlife Management Area, Weathersfield Wildlife Management Area, and Wilgus State Park, and comprises 4,378 acres in the towns of Springfield, Weathersfield, West Windsor, and Windsor. The LRMP will guide management on the parcel for the next 25 years and schedules numerous recreation, habitat, and forest management projects.
A short slide show will be presented outlining the existing resources and proposed future management of the parcels. The meeting will then be open for public comment and input which will be recorded.
A copy of the draft plan can be found at the VT FPR website: fpr.vermont.gov/state_lands/management_planning/documents/district_pages/district_1/ascutney_mu
The meeting will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Martin Memorial Hall at the Weathersfield Town Office on 5259 Route 5 in Ascutney, Vermont.
