2016 Free Ice Fishing Day and Festival at Elmore State Park

Ice Fishing Festival to be Held at Lake Elmore State Park in Celebration

ELMORE, Vt. – Vermont’s third annual Free Ice Fishing Day is January 30, 2016.  To celebrate, the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department is holding an Ice Fishing Festival at Lake Elmore State Park in central Vermont.

The festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The event is free and families with kids are encouraged to attend. 

Enjoy Dead Creek Wildlife Day on Sat., Oct. 3

If you enjoy wildlife, be sure to make plans to attend the annual Dead Creek Wildlife Day in Addison, Vermont on Saturday, October 3.

Activities at Dead Creek Wildlife Day are especially for people who enjoy hunting, fishing, birdwatching, or learning about Vermont’s diverse wildlife. The event will be held at the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department’s Dead Creek Wildlife Management Area (WMA) on Route 17 west of Route 22A in Addison.

Vermont’s Free Fishing Day affords residents and non-residents alike the opportunity to go fishing anywhere in Vermont for the day without a fishing license. 

Casting for Recovery Retreat

Summer fly fishing retreat by Casting for Recovery. The mission of Casting for Recovery is to enhance the quality of life of women with breast cancer through a unique program that combines breast cancer education and peer support with the therapeutic sport of fly fishing.

Age Divisions: 0-9, 10-14, 15-18

Prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each division. All proceeds from raffle and refreshments to benefit Oxbow Mountain 4-H club.
