Tell Me More with Secretary Moore: Environmental Permitting

What

Join Agency of Natural Resources (ANR) Secretary Julie Moore on February 23 from 4:00-5:00 PM for a virtual discussion about environmental permitting in Vermont. Each year, ANR issues a variety of permits for projects covering everything from septic system upgrades to solar development. These permits support smart economic development and community growth while protecting and conserving Vermont’s important natural resources. At the meeting, Secretary Moore will talk about some of the permits most frequently issued by the Agency, including ones related to stormwater, septic systems and new wells. She will also provide guidance to towns, individuals, and businesses applying for permits and answer any questions attendees have.

Secretary Moore will be joined by Adam Miller, Environmental Enforcement Division Director at the Department of Environmental Conservation, and Pete Kopsco, Regional Permit Specialist for the Department of Environmental Conservation. Director Miller will introduce the new Permit Navigator, an online tool that helps people figure out what permits they need to get, and Pete Kopsco will talk about some of the most common permitting questions homeowners have.

While the meeting will begin with a conversation on permitting, it will not be limited to this topic. The Secretary encourages Vermonters to bring their questions and concerns about a wide range of natural resources topics to the meeting.
