MONTPELIER, Vt. - Agency of Natural Resources Secretary Julie Moore will host a gathering in Montpelier to discuss a variety of environmental topics on Tuesday, November 27th. The conversation will start with a discussion on invasive species in Vermont. Secretary Moore will then open the floor to the public, inviting them to share thoughts, ideas, questions and concerns about Vermont’s natural world – from land and water to plants and wildlife.
"I started hosting these community meetings last February because I wanted to open my office door to Vermonters,” said Secretary Moore. “These meetings are a great way for me to hear directly from a wide range of people on a variety of topics – from drought management to water quality projects.”
Invasive Plant Coordinator Elizabeth Spinney will kick off a discussion of practical ways individuals and communities can take action to manage for invasive plants. Aquatic Invasive Species Management Coordinator Josh Mulhollem will then highlight the State’s work with municipalities to develop management plans for invasive aquatic vegetation. While the meeting will begin with a conversation on invasive species, it will not be limited to this topic.
