Public Comment on the Core Principles of Community Engagement
Montpelier, VT – The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources is hosting two events to receive feedback on the proposed Core Principles of Community Engagement (the Principles) under the Vermont Environmental Justice Law.
The Principles will guide the creation of community engagement plans by the Agencies of Natural Resources, Transportation, Commerce and Community Development, Agriculture, and Education; the Public Utility Commission; the Natural Resources Board; and the Departments of Health, Public Safety, and Public Service.
The public is invited to join one of the public meetings, one hybrid and one virtual, to provide feedback:

Perspectives of the public and stakeholder organizations are important to make sure these principles represent the wants, needs, and values of communities throughout Vermont.
The Principles were drafted by the Interagency Environmental Justice Committee in close consultation with the Environmental Justice Advisory Council and the Agency of Natural Resources.

Written comments on Core Principles of Community Engagement can be submitted by in writing on the Public Comment: Core Principles of Community Engagement Microsoft Form. Public comments must be received by June 14, 2024 at 5:00 pm EST. Attendance at the public meetings is not necessary to submit written comments.
