Turner Hill WMA Draft Plan Public Meeting

When:  Thursday, April 18, 2019 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Where:  Athens School, 103 Route 35, Athens, VT

The 1,052-acre Turner Hill Wildlife Management Area is located in the towns of Grafton and Athens and is owned by the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department for the purposes of fish and wildlife conservation, and to provide public access to enjoy these resources. The meeting will provide an opportunity for members of the public to review the highlights of the draft long-range management plan and ask questions. A short presentation will open the meeting, followed by a discussion with comments recorded by staff. This is the first management plan that has been created for this site. The plan focuses on wildlife habitat improvement and protection of rare, threatened and endangered species. The draft plan and general information about these lands is available on the Forests, Parks and Recreation website (https://fpr.vermont.gov/turner-hill-wildlife-management-area). A hard copy will also be available in the town offices of Athens and Grafton.

In addition to commenting at the public meeting, comments will be accepted via email or by mail to the address listed below. Comments will be accepted until May 21, 2019.
