MONTPELIER – Building on last year’s success, Vermont State Parks is requesting proposals for food truck and ice cream vendors at Sand Bar State Park this summer.
Food truck vendors are wanted for busy, peak summer weekends mid-June through Labor Day and may apply for as many weekends as they want, or for the entire season.
The state is also seeking one ice cream vendor for each weekend mid-June through Labor Day. (Ice cream is very popular at the park).
Depending on the duration of the arrangement, the state will either charge a nominal daily vending fee, or a small percentage of sales for season-long ventures.
Sand Bar is one of Vermont’s most popular state parks and typically hosts 40,000 – 50,000 visitors each season. On busy weekend days, hundreds of Vermonters and visitors enjoy family-friendly swimming and the long sandy beach.
Now in its second season, the food truck program at Sand Bar State Park builds on the success and popularity of the program last summer. Northwest Parks Regional Manager Rob Peterson is looking forward to expanding offerings for the 2018 season and views this collaboration as a win for vendors and park visitors. “We provide Vermont businesses the opportunity to showcase their culinary talents and build their brand at one of Vermont’s most popular beaches,” he says. “At the same time, it provides park visitors a convenient way to sample tasty, high quality Vermont products.”
Proposals are being accepted through March 31, 2018
