WINDSOR, Vt. -- Governor Phil Scott and Fish & Wildlife Commissioner Louis Porter invite the public to participate in an hour of fishing starting at 2:30 p.m. at Lake Runnemede in Windsor on Monday, July 23. The event is free and open to the public. The Governor, Commissioner, other Fish & Wildlife staff and volunteer instructors for Vermont’s “Let’s Go Fishing” program will assist anyone who would like to learn more about fishing. People are urged to bring their own fishing equipment, but some will also be available for loan during the event. Catch-and-release fishing for northern pike, bass and sunfish will be practiced during the event. Parking for the event will be at the Windsor Price Chopper parking lot on Route 5, and participants can walk, but not drive, to the lake along Eddie’s Place Road, which is private.
