Section 9 of Act 76 of 2019 (formerly known as S.96) requires the Agency of Natural Resources to convene a stakeholder group in order to recommend a framework for statewide land conservation to the General Assembly. Specifically, the framework is to consider:
Agency of Natural Resources (ANR) Secretary Julie Moore invites the public to join her on June 25 from 4:00-5:00 pm to discuss a variety of environmental topics. This month's discussion will feature a conversation about composting in Vermont, covering everything from 2019 composting legislation to the ways Vermonters can compost in bear country.

Discussion of the draft Intended Use Plans and draft Project Priority Lists for the FFY19/SFY20 Clean and FFY19 Drinking Water State Revolving Funds. Essex Junction, Vt. -- The Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation is holding a public meeting to present the conceptual plans, which are part of a master planning process, for improvements to Sand Bar State Park located in Milton, Vermont. Each year, the park welcomes between 40,000-50,000 visitors and the master plan proposes updates to the park to meet the needs of visitors, make the park safer, protect the environment and enhance historic and cultural resources.

Agency Secretary Julie Moore will host a gathering in Montpelier to discuss a variety of environmental topics on Tuesday, February 26th. The conversation will start with a discussion on electric vehicles in Vermont. The floor will then be opened up to the public to share thoughts, ideas, questions and concerns about Vermont’s natural world – from land and water to plants and wildlife.
The Vermont departments of Fish & Wildlife, and Forests, Parks, & Recreation are holding a public meeting to discuss future management and use of a group of conserved lands in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom.
The meeting will discuss the Bill Sladyk Wildlife Management Area, Black Turn Brook State Forest, and Averill Mountain Wildlife Management Area, primarily in the towns of Norton and Holland. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 20 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Town of Brighton Elementary School.
There will be a public meeting in Barre on Thursday, March 15th, 2018 to discuss the discovery of emerald ash borer in Orange County. The meeting is being hosted by the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation, and the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets, in cooperation with the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service and the US Forest Service.
Hunters, landowners and anyone else interested in deer and moose should plan on attending one of the Vermont Fish & Wildlife public hearings being held in March and May.
The hearings will include results of Vermont’s 2017 deer and moose seasons and prospects for hunting next fall as well as an opportunity for people to provide their observations and opinions regarding deer and moose.
The hearings will also include a review of the proposed 2018 moose hunting season and an opportunity for the public to comment.
